Safety & Compliance

Corridor Contractors operates under a comprehensive safety management system that meets or exceeds OSHA and MSHA standards across all phases of civil construction — excavation, trenching, earthwork, utility installation, demolition, and aggregate pit operations. Our safety program is not a document we file and forget — it is the operational standard our crews work under every day, on every active project.

A clean safety record is a business requirement for the project types Corridor pursues. Government agencies, public utilities, and major developers review EMR ratings, incident histories, and safety program documentation before awarding contracts. We maintain our program to the standard required to remain on every pre-qualified bid list we have earned.

A ZERO-INCIDENT SAFETY CULTURE ON EVERY JOB SITE

All Corridor excavation and trenching operations comply with OSHA CFR 1926 Subpart P. Before any trench is opened, our field supervisors classify soil conditions, select the appropriate protective system (shoring, sloping, or shielding), and confirm that safe access and egress is established. Confined space entry procedures are documented and followed wherever utility vaults, lift station wet wells, or other confined space conditions exist on the project.

Corridor's aggregate pit operations are conducted under current MSHA certification. Pit personnel hold valid MSHA Part 46 training certifications, and our pit safety plan is reviewed and updated annually. All aggregate extraction and processing operations comply with applicable MSHA standards for surface mining operations, including equipment guarding, dust suppression, and site access controls.

Every Corridor project begins the day with a tailgate safety briefing. Supervisors review the day's work scope, identify task-specific hazards, confirm PPE requirements, and document attendance. Any near-miss or incident — regardless of severity — is documented immediately, reviewed by project management, and reported per our incident documentation protocols. We do not wait for patterns to emerge before addressing hazards.
