Tailings

Tailings are the raw, unprocessed material that comes off the pit before crushing and screening. That makes them one of our most economical fill options — you're not paying for processing you don't need when all you need is bulk volume.

This material is variable in size and gradation, which means it's not appropriate for pipe bedding or spec-driven base course. But for applications where you need to raise grade, fill a low area, build up an access road on a job site, or create rough fill behind a retaining structure, tailings get the job done at a lower cost than processed aggregates. They're also a practical choice for temporary haul roads where the surface just needs to hold up for a season.

• Non-structural backfill behind walls and structures
• Low areas and site balancing where spec material is not required
• Stockpile areas and berm construction

Product Specifications

Note: Tailings are an economical fill option but are not suitable for applications where material gradation, compaction, or load-bearing performance is specified by an engineer. When in doubt, ask us — we'll point you toward the right product for your job.
